  1. What is Hard Water?

    Water that contains one or more grains of calcium or magnesium per gallon

  2. What is the grain capacity for the water softener?

    We have 3 models of Softener, the respective capacities are WS 11: 11000 grains, WS 14: 14000 grains, WS 17: 17000 grains

  3. What do you mean by grain?

    Grain per gallon is equal to 17.1 ppm hardness of water.

  4. Why do we need to use salt?

    Salt is needed for regeneration. During regeneration, the salt solution will recharge exhausted resins used for water softening.

  5. What are the effects of hard water?

    Hard water is actually water with dissolved rocks. Common signs are films or spots on glassware, rings forming around bathtubs, lack of soap suds, dingy clothes, clothes that wear out quickly, scale formation on plumbing, loss of water-heating efficiency.

  6. What are the various degrees of hardness?

    0-3 gpg : No softening needed. Pure soap effective in cleaning 3-5 gpg : Detergents not completely effective in cleaning 6-9 gpg : Hard to remove, white film (lime) in showers & on dishes Over 9 gpg : Detergents not effective. Significant scaling in pipes & appliances
