Water Pitcher P18

Back to FAQs Water Pitcher P18
  1. For my Pitcher P18, where is the recommended place for it?

Most people will leave a pitcher at the dining area or the kitchen top for family use, while some place one as well in their bedrooms as well for easy access. The Pitcher has also been sized to fit the side door of your refrigerator, in mind for those who enjoy chilled drinks. It is however recommended that direct sunlight be avoided, just like most other products due to the heat and UV generated from its rays.

  2. There is a counter on the lid, what is it for?

It is a built-in counter, acting like a memory chip to remind you when it is due for a cartridge change, that is when it reaches 150 litres.

  3. How often do I need to change the cartridge?

A cartridge change is recommended when the digital counter reaches '0' on the indicator.

  4. May I pour boiling water into the pitcher?

Besides the fact that the plastic material of the pitcher does not support such high temperatures, the cartridges are also not made for filtering HOT water. It can support water up to a maximum temperature of 35ÂșC.

  5. Can I boil the filtered water?

If you wish to use boiled water, you may boil the filtered water. Alternatively, fill the pitcher with boiled water that has already cooled down to room temperature. The latter will at least allow you to have great-tasting water, polished by the carbon filter inside.

  6. Why is it that I found black particles in the water?

Most likely, the black particles (carbon fines) result from the cartridge not being thoroughly rinsed. Discard the water in the pitcher & fill it again with new batch of water. If problem persists, please alert us via the email or hotline.

  7. If I had accidentally consumed the carbon fines, is it harmful to my body?

Not only is this a rare or unlikely situation, the minimal carbon intake does NOT pose a major harm for the human body.

  8. May I keep the water overnight?

For optimal water quality, it is recommended to consume the filtered water within the same day. Overnight water is still consummable, but if you have not used the pitcher for several days, please discard the water due to potential bacterial breeding as a result of stagnation. And if you are going on a long vacation, please remove the cartridge, wrap it in a plastic bag & store it in the refrigerator to keep the cartridge 'fresh', just like your groceries.

  9. What is the water storage capacity of the Pitcher?

The pitcher total capacity is 2.5 litres while Filtered water capacity is 1.5 litres.

  10. How does P18 improve the water I drink?

The water pitcher has a 3-STAGE filtration system incorporated :

    • 1st stage : Sediment Filtration: It removes particles & contaminants.
    • 2nd stage : Granular Activated Carbon with Ion Exchange Resin Filtration: Besides removing chlorine by >95%, it also reduces heavy metals such as Copper, Lead & Volatile Organic Carbons (VOC). Additionally, water taste is improved and odours removed.
    • 3rd stage : Pleated Membrane Filtration: Reduces turbidity (ie:improves clarity) and enabled to trap particles as well, thus serving as a repeat filter
  11. I notice the water flow rate is rather slow. What should I do?

    For new cartridges :

    1. Shake the cartridge for about 5 secs to loosen the carbon fines
    2. Soak it in normal tap water for 20 mins
    3. Shake the wet cartridge for another 5 seconds or so
    4. Rinse it with 1 litre of tap water & discard the water used for rinsing

    For used cartridges :

    1. Shake it for 5 secs to loosen the carbon fines
    2. Rinse it with 1 litre of tap water & discard the water used for rinsing
  12. If hot water is accidentally poured through the pitcher P18, will there be any chemicals, poisonous gas or toxins released from the plastic materials?

If high temperature water had passed through the product, we recommend the product be replaced as material warppage could have occured. However, it's unlikely harmful chemicals or materials will be released as a result.

  13. What is the micron size for the Pitcher P18?

The Smallest micron size for P18 is 1 micron for the pleated membrane which serves as an effective sediment filter, sands & particles up to 1 micron in size.
