Common WATER Quality matters
Bad tastes and odors -There are multiple possibilities as to why water can carry bad taste & odor. Most often, municipalities have disinfectants like chlorine, or fluoride added which alters water¡¦s original taste. And while water is being distributed from the reservoir to your home, other extracts as a result of dead leaf extracts, metals like iron or copper, amongst many other possible contaminants can cause further deterioration in taste & odor.
Bacteria and viruses - Bacteria and Viruses exist all around us, be it water or air-borne. The risk levels differ depending on the concentration, type, molecular size, etc. and these are likely prevalent in the water that comes through our taps, having travelled through lengthy distances and multiple pipe/channel systems. Heavy metals - Consumption/Drinking water with high levels of lead, cadmium, and mercury can cause nerve damage, birth defects, mental retardation, and cancer and other illnesses. Lead - Lead poisoning is known to lead to mental retardation and birth defects. Synthetic organic chemicals - One example is pesticides, which are carried into groundwater by rain. They can cause respiratory and nerve disorders Arsenic - Arsenic can cause cancer, as well as damage to the kidneys, liver, and nervous system. Volatile organic chemicals - Chemicals such as gasoline, solvents, and industrial cleaners can cause many illnesses including liver cancer and leukemia.
